Dr. Inga Liepelt-Scarfone , PhD is an associated professor and working as a senior researcher at the Dept. of Neurodegeneration, Hertie-Institute for Clinical Brain Research. She is coordinator of the Intergrated Care and Research Unit (ICRU) of the German Center of Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and Dept. of Neurodegenerative Diseases. Since 2014, PD Dr. Liepelt-Scarfone is Co-Chair of the working group “Neuropsychology” of the German Parkinson Society (DPG). Moreover, she is leader of the DPG focus group for the development of guidelines for neuropsychological assessment in Parkinson’s disease. Primary aim of her research is the early detection of cognitive worsening and dementia, especially to define prodromal markers for Parkinson’s disease dementia, and to characterize of specific endophenotypes for progression of cognitive function in older age and neurodegenerative disorders. She has an extensive track record of leading and coordinating clinical studies and projects, in particular in Parkinson’s Disease.
